You are your own Journey

One weekend in November I went to Virginia Beach for a Community College Conference. Sadly, I didn’t get to go to the beach but it was a great experience. I met students from other community colleges and noticed the similarities and differences of a few schools. In the next two blog posts, I’m sharing what I learned at the sessions I attended, including this one.

Why not be the best you?

First of all, go find your life coach!

Here are the reasons you should have a life coach:

  • A life coach helps guide your discussions when you don’t know what to do.
    • They ask you questions to start thinking and figure out the answer.
    • They won’t give you the answer.
  •  A life coach helps you understand who you are, to make the best decision.

Self-discovery

Self-discovery is a great way to find out the best in yourself. A way to discover your personality better is by filling out a personality profile/assessment. Find out your unique strengths, passions, dreams. Either way, you go through this, there is no right or wrong answer.

Experiences

  • Write down experiences!
  • What have you done in your life?

Something that the speaker of the session said that stuck to me was that it’s good to journal all your experiences especially those you will want to look back on. No, you don’t need to journal every night and what you journal about can be good or bad.

For bloggers if you journal your experiences it’s better to have it written out when it’s fresh in your mind and later look back at your journal entry and write is a blog post for your blog, if it’s something you want to share online.
